A MOROSE CHRONOLOGY...

The band Morose was born in 1998, from the ashes of two bands: Kalte Sterne (above: D. Saranza, Mauro Costagli and Luca Lazzoni) and Priscilla (below: La Carogna, Luca Galuppini, Mauro Costagli, Luca Olivieri).
The first Morose recording (starring D. Saranza, Mauro Costagli, La Carogna and Luca Lazzoni as "special guest") consists of an untitled cassette, released by Mauro's new born record label, called Ouzel.
After releasing the very first tape, they suspend their activity until Summer 2000: the band records a new track to join the 2nd Anniversary Compilation of Ouzel Records, and releases its 2nd work, called "Lifespace at a Given Moment".

In 2001 the band records its new EP, entitled "Best Regards From Hungary" (picture on the left), released by Ouzel Records, and joins various compilations released by Dhyana Records (Germany), Bliss (U.K.), Fighting Godzilla (U.S.A.).

After playing some gigs around Italy, the band releases a vinyl 7" split with [Minmae] (from Portland). The work is entitled "Love is A Swindle", it contains 3 previously unreleased tracks by Morose, and it is released by Try Not To Look (U.S.A.)

Luca Lazzoni leaves Morose after their show in Talamona (SO) in Autumn 2001. The new Morose member is Luca Galuppini (ONQ): the band records a lot of new stuff with him, joins a few compilations (released by Under My Bed, Bliss, and Dhyana Records), releases a "Worst Of" on Bliss Aquamarine (cassette split with Mauro's Colours Seen From Behind) and starts the recordings of a new album. The first track of the session is included in the compilation "You Cannot Hold DIY...", released by Ouzel Records, also starring June of 44, ONQ, Milaus, Minmae, Klimperei, Lo-Fi Sucks!, and many others...

In Summer 2002 Mauro starts playing drums with the band Lo-Fi Sucks!, and Davide records his first solo work with a 4track recorder: some of the songs contained in that CD will be re-arranged and included in the new album by Morose.

Morose and The Microphones share the stage and play together in Genova in Autumn 2002. >>>

The new album "La Mia Ragazza Mi Ha Lasciato" is a co-production involving Cane Andaluso, Ouzel, Kimera, and Under My Bed, distributed by Audioglobe, from April 2003. Valerio Sartori joins the band as trumpet, clarinet and bass player, then Luca Galuppini leaves the band.

After some concerts in Italy, the band goes on tour in the U.K. in Summer 2003, with Hiyori Ando playing bass, keyboards and percussions.

Federico Moi joins Morose in September 2003, then the band tours Italy again (6 out of 11 concerts have been done together with Prague, from London). Many other concerts follow in early 2004.

The band records the new album "People Have Ceased To Ask Me About You" in summer 2004, and then Mauro moves to Japan (Pier takes his place).

In March 2005, the new official website www.moroseismoroseismorose.com is activated. These pages will be kept online as a document of the period between Summer 1998 and Summer 2004.
